On Thursday, July 23rd, the university's soccer club conducted a cleanup volunteer activity at Najima Beach in Higashi Ward, Fukuoka City, with 17 people participating, including the club's coach, players, and faculty members.

On the day of the event, participants reviewed the purpose of the beach cleanup and safety precautions before starting the activity, deepening their understanding of the importance of environmental conservation and its connection to the local community.

During the subsequent cleanup activity, the students divided into assigned areas and carefully collected trash one by one from the beach and surrounding areas, while paying attention to the safety of those around them. Despite the intense heat, the students demonstrated the teamwork they had cultivated through their regular athletic activities. They worked together until the end, cleaning and sorting the trash and managing to collect 20 bags of garbage.

Among the collected waste, plastic bottles were particularly noticeable. Beach cleanup is not just about picking up trash, but also an opportunity to re-examine our own lifestyles and consumption habits. The participating students realized that everyday items contribute to beach litter, and they deepened their understanding of what they can do to reduce waste while contributing to the beautification of the local environment.

Our university will continue to promote volunteer activities that allow students to take an interest in the issues facing their local community, learn and grow while interacting with local residents.
